Legal\nand Institutional Framework
The legal\nframework for European Economic Interest Groupings is established by Council\nRegulation (EEC) No. 2137\/85 of 25 July 1985<\/b>, published in the Official\nJournal of the European Communities<\/i> L 199 on 31 July 1985.
UNIES\nmaintains its own quality management procedures for educational and learning\nservices. Its quality management approach has been based on the international\nstandard DIN ISO 29990:2010<\/b>, which provided a common quality framework\nfor learning service providers, including educational institutions, vocational\ntraining organizations and providers of lifelong learning.
UNIES \u2013\nA History of International Cooperation<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n
UNIES\ninitially operated as a faculty institute of the university<\/b>, focusing on\ninternational and European studies and on the development of internationally\noriented educational activities.
The\ninstitute subsequently developed its own international profile and established\ncooperation with educational institutions outside Georgia.
In 2017\/2018<\/b>,\nUNIES became institutionally independent from the Georgian university and\ncontinued its activities as an independent educational organization.
2017\u20132021:\nCooperation with Katowice Business University
Following\nits separation from the Georgian university, UNIES continued to expand its\ninternational cooperation activities.
This period\nmarked an important step in the development of UNIES as an internationally\noriented institution working across national and institutional boundaries.
2018\u20132024:\nUNIES as an Offshore Faculty Institute of Collegium Humanum
From 2018<\/b>,\nUNIES entered into a new phase of development through its cooperation with Collegium\nHumanum \u2013 Warsaw Management University<\/b> in Warsaw, Poland.
During this\nperiod, UNIES operated as an offshore faculty institute of Collegium Humanum\n\u2013 Warsaw Management University<\/b> and formed an integral part of the\nuniversity’s international educational activities.
The\ncooperation included the development and organization of international\neducational postgraduate programs and provided UNIES with an established\nframework for cooperation with students, lecturers and partner institutions in\ndifferent countries.
UNIES\ncontinued in this role until 2024<\/b>, when the institutional structure of\nits cooperation with Collegium Humanum changed following the subsequent\ndevelopment of the university and its successor organization.
2024:\nMalaysian Qualifications Agency Accreditation
An\nimportant milestone in the international development of UNIES was reached in 2024<\/b>,\nwhen one of its Bachelor’s programs was approved through the quality-assurance\nprocess of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)<\/b>.
The MQA is\na statutory body operating under Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education and is\nresponsible for quality assurance and the Malaysian Qualifications Framework.
The UNIES\nBachelor’s program in Criminology and Policing<\/b> was approved in\ncooperation with its Malaysian partner institution in Kuala Lumpur.
This\ndevelopment established an important foundation for UNIES’s activities in\nSoutheast Asia and demonstrated its ability to work with local educational\npartners within a national higher-education quality assurance framework.
2025\u20132026:\nUNIES as a Learning Center of Varsovia
During the\nperiod 2025\u20132026<\/b>, UNIES continued its cooperation with the successor\nstructure of Collegium Humanum.
This\ncooperation enabled UNIES to continue supporting international students and\neducational activities while developing its role as an international learning\nand cooperation center.<\/span><\/p>\n
Professor\nDr. Venkatesh Karanam<\/span><\/b>\nserves as Regional Academic Director \u2013 Asia & Middle East<\/b> for UNIES\nBusiness School.
In addition\nto the Regional Office for Asia & the Middle East, UNIES maintains a Southeast\nAsia Office in Indonesia<\/b>, operated through PT UNIES Business School in\nJakarta, Indonesia<\/b>.
Through\nthese regional structures, UNIES is able to develop cooperation with\neducational institutions, colleges, training centers and other academic and\nprofessional partners across Asia.<\/span><\/p>\n
